Bellfounte Ama. Aug 28
Dear father i received your letter of the 21th [missing word] day i was very glad heare from you as it is the first since the move. I wrote a letter the other day that contained all of the knews. Mase.Crawford is out of the camp he is acting post [supsistend?] quarter master of this division. [p.2] Johny days is clerking for him that leaves me by myself that's me and my dog tent which now fix right comfortable. I Am very glad you ordered that [machine?] When you send or put it in a strong box for they are knocked about so that a common box is labeled to be [bursted?] on the way. The pictures you wanted to know [p.3] would suis best soldiers likes something exciting and rare and [racy?] We have our bake oven up again and we will have warm bread soon as we can get some flour. We have been very short on rations since we have been here. Enclosed i send a piece of poetry of the skirmish of liberty gap that 32th reg belongs to Davis division they fought them the next [p.4] day after we did we was on reserve at the time no more at present,
