Dear father i arrived here yesterday all right without any serious accident this place is the best fortified place i ever saw they are not new here Sandy and Taylor are well and all of the boys are looking well. Our regiment is to be paid off by Morton. but i think i won't get any i was not present [p.2] in time to sign the roll. No more at present
