Camp 6th Ward Dec the 2 /61
Dear father and mother I have the opportunity to write a few lines to let you know that I am well and hope that you are and the rest of the family. They are a snow on the ground about 3 in deep and still snowing friday night. It rained and thundered and saturday night it snowed wednesday last the ladies of 6th ward low present a flag to us and diner. We are camped close to upton on the railroad, the bridge washed down the other day that was over Rolling Fork. We expect to push on to Bowling Green. that is all of belong give my love to all the friends remaining yours
